Tracy is originally from Baltimore, MD. She attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas majoring in General Business. She spent one semester abroad in Denmark studying EU business practices at the University of Copenhagen. In 1995 she received her BBA from SMU. During her senior year she held an internship at the International Small Business Development Center in the Dallas World Trade Center. After graduation, she moved to New York City (NYC) to begin her professional career. She resided in NYC for 10 years and spent the majority of her time working at Instinet Corporation and then Lehman Brothers.
Tracy was a Director in the Contracts & Sourcing Department at Instinet. In this role she developed a departmental strategy to ensure Instinet achieved optimal price/performance with its global suppliers. This included the development of business objectives, creation of new business processes and establishment of a preferred vendor list. On a day-to-day basis she negotiated contracts and performed vendor management activities in the areas of Contractors/Consultants, Facilities, General Services and Outsourcing. After three and a half years at Instinet, Tracy accepted a new position at Lehman Brothers.
Lehman Brothers hired Tracy as Vice President in Global Procurement Services. In her time at Lehman she managed individuals in the sourcing area as well as the buyer operations area. She was later promoted to manage all operations globally including a team of eighteen professionals. She partnered with the internal legal department to create Firm standard contract and best practice clauses, create uniformity, mitigate risk and facilitate contract negotiations. Tracy also led the global PeopleSoft project implementation across the areas of Purchase Order, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assests. She achieved $50M cost reduction/avoidance through strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and demand management.
Two months before her first child was due she resigned from Lehman Brothers. She currently resides in Baltimore, MD with her husband and two children. She also assists her husband in the nonclinical areas of his dental practice.
